Buda Egg-Stravaganza (April)

Summary:
Hop on over to the Buda Sportsplex for the city’s annual Egg-Stravaganza, a fun-filled morning of Easter cheer for families and kids of all ages. The highlight of the day is the big egg hunt, with separate fields for different age groups to keep things fair and festive. Kids can also enjoy face painting, two lively bounce houses, and hands-on fun exploring a Buda fire truck and police squad car.

Buda Wiener Dog Races

Get ready for one of Buda’s quirkiest and most beloved spring traditions — the Wiener Dog Races! Hosted by the Buda Lions Club, this tail-wagging festival celebrates dachshunds in all their adorable glory. Expect racing heats for both purebreds and mixes (some sprint, some take their sweet time — it’s part of the fun!), a Pet Parade and costume contest, live music, bounce houses, BBQ and craft vendors, and games for the whole family. First launched in 1997 with just a few dozen pups, it’s grown into a major community event attracting thousands of visitors — all while raising funds for local causes and spotlighting Buda’s “Wiener Dog Capital” status.

Boo-Da Halloween

Get ready for the most fa-boo-lous Halloween party in town! Buda’s annual Boo-Da Halloween transforms City Park into a festive wonderland of candy, costumes, and community fun. Families can enjoy trick-or-treating with local businesses and nonprofits, ghoulishly fun games, a costume contest for kids, storytime with the Buda Public Library, and a lineup of tasty food trucks to satisfy every spooky craving.

To make the event welcoming for everyone, Boo-Da Halloween also features a sensory-sensitive room inside the amphitheater’s backstage green rooms. This quiet space includes cozy seating, low lighting, fidget toys, and noise-canceling headphones—offering a calm retreat for guests who need a break from the excitement.

November

Railcar Revival (November)

Summary:
All aboard for one of Buda’s most anticipated fall festivals—Railcar Revival! This high-energy event brings together live music, Texas BBQ, and local flavor for an unforgettable day at the Buda Amphitheater & City Park. Enjoy performances from five featured artists and a live DJ, browse a variety of market vendors, and experience sponsor activations throughout the park.

Hungry? Head to the Smoke Yard, where some of Texas’ best BBQ pitmasters serve up mouthwatering plates, or grab a bite from local food trucks. Attendees can also snag official event and band merchandise, sip on craft beer, cocktails, and non-alcoholic drinks, and relax in The Depot, a shaded, elevated viewing area with limited seating and a beer garden.

With great tunes, smoky barbecue, and a true Hill Country vibe, Railcar Revival is where music and community meet on the tracks of good times.

Budafest

Summary:
Now in its 45th year, Budafest is one of Buda’s most beloved traditions—three full days of holiday cheer that light up the heart of downtown. The festivities begin Friday evening with the Ornament Market, carnival rides, the Official Tree Lighting Ceremony, and the cozy Cocoa Jingle celebration.

Saturday brings a full day of merriment with craft and food vendors, Santa’s Artisan Workshop, kids’ activities, and photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus. As the sun sets, Main Street transforms into a twinkling wonderland for the Lighted Parade, followed by a spectacular fireworks countdown over the city.

The celebration continues Sunday with more local shopping, holiday fun, and the crowd-favorite Reindog Parade, featuring festive pups parading down Main Street in their holiday best. With live music, family entertainment, and small-town magic at every turn, Budafest is the perfect way to kick off the season and celebrate Christmas in the heart of the Hill Country.

Buda Holiday Lights (December)

Experience the magic of the season at Buda Holiday Lights, where Historic Stagecoach Park transforms into a sparkling winter wonderland. Wander through twinkling light displays, festive scenes, and illuminated pathways that capture the joy of the holidays. Guests are shuttled from Cabela’s to the park, where they can stroll at their leisure, enjoy holiday treats, live entertainment, and even a special visit from Santa himself!

The event also includes Senior Night and a Sensory-Friendly Hour, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the festivities in comfort and community. With complimentary shuttle service, family fun, and plenty of Hill Country holiday spirit, Buda Holiday Lights is the perfect way to celebrate the season.
